Questions about New Lesson Pricing

Why am I increasing the cost of lessons?
The first reason is to keep up with the current "going" rate in the area. And even at the new pricing levels, I am one of the lowest-priced teachers in the area.

Also, as a mother, I find that my time in the evenings is more precious now than ever.  I love to teach piano and voice, but I also love my children and so time spent teaching is precious time away from my own children.

Why am I discontinuing  the sibling discount? - I will continue the sibling discount!
After additional consideration  - I have decided to continue the sibling discount.  In these economic times, it is difficult for families to provide opportunities for multiple children, so I will continue to offer a my sibling discount of $10/child when more than one child is taking lessons.

What options are there if the new pricing is too much for your family?
My first suggestion would be to enroll your students in group lessons.  Group lessons are $40/month per student and still offer much of the individual attention students get now in their private lessons and also offer some great benefits not found in individual lessons.

A second option would be to have lessons every other week, instead of every week.  This would bring the cost down to $30/month.

I hope this helps answer some of the questions that have come up about the new prices.  Please note that new prices do not take effect until January 1, 2010.  If you have any other questions about the new prices, please feel free to contact me.
